Advanced Teeth Whitening
Teeth become stained for a number of reasons, from eating and lifestyle habits to the use of particular medications. While staining on its own isn’t an indication of poor health, it can cause teeth to look dull and worn. Professional teeth whitening rejuvenates the youthfulness of your smile by removing discoloration and stains and restoring its natural beauty. It is one of the simplest, quickest ways to turn back the clock!

What to Expect for Teeth Whitening Treatment
Teeth whitening is a relatively straightforward procedure that can, for the most part, be performed safely and conveniently at-home. During your appointment, you’ll be given a take-home whitening kit along with detailed instructions for use. If you have any questions at all during the course of your treatment, please do hesitate to reach out and contact my office directly!
Teeth Whitening & Sensitivity
Increased tooth sensitivity is a common side effect of teeth whitening. In most cases, sensitivity is only mild and short-lasting. Usually, patients find that it subsides shortly after treatment concludes. There are, however, some cases where patients have highly sensitive teeth to begin with and side effects are stronger. In these situations, I am able to advise on alternative methods for achieving whiter teeth.
Take-Home Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening for our Dallas patients starts with an in-office visit. This quick check-up allows us to examine your teeth and confirm that you are a good candidate for treatment. During this time, you’ll be given one of our at-home whitening kits so that you can complete treatment in the comfort of your own home. We recommend at-home whitening kits as opposed to rapid, in-office whitening because there is lower risk of discomfort and prolonged tooth sensitivity.
How It Affects Crowns & Fillings
Crowns and fillings do not respond to treatments used for teeth whitening. Therefore, it’s important to note that older, whiter fillings may stand out after treatment. However, you have the option of replacing your old crowns and fillings to match the new, whiter shade of your teeth. While this is not completely necessary, you may appreciate the cosmetic benefits of having matching shades and an all-around whiter, healthier-looking smile.
