Comprehensive General Dentistry Since 2001
If you are searching for an experienced General Dentist who will promote the beauty and strength of your smile, while emphasizing preventive dentistry and its proven effects on overall health, look no further than Segulyev Dental Arts. We know that patients need thorough preventive care if they want to maintain their gorgeous smiles for life. Once we assess your current situation, I will recommend a treatment course to maximize the health, beauty, and function of your smile.
We believe in the concept of co-diagnosis, educating patients about existing problems and potential solutions. This allows patients to make better choices and is the key to long-term health and function. Our hygienists feel that allowing patients to become co-diagnosticians is as important as providing thorough but gentle cleanings.
Whole Family Checkups & Preventive Treatments
Maintaining a healthy, beautiful smile is a lifelong job, and I would like to be your trusted partner throughout the years in this endeavor. My Dallas dental office sees patients of all ages, and we’d love to treat you and all your loved ones with in-depth examinations, revitalizing cleanings, and preventive services that are all designed to identify and treat potential dental concerns at the earliest possible stages, saving you from more serious damage and cost down the road.
Lifelong dental health is our main priority in caring for you and your family’s teeth. Dental health is also an important part of your overall health. Establishing a good dental routine and care can help avoid serious dental and other health problems later in life.
We are committed to helping patients look and feel their best. Our dental team can help you get your mouth and teeth in shape, so you can enjoy a lifetime of excellent oral health. Professional cleanings that are performed every six months are one of the most important steps you can take to improve and maintain your dental health. We use the most advanced technology and products to remove stubborn stains, tartar and residual build up from your teeth and gums.
Gingivitis and periodontal disease can lead to serious dental problems, such as tooth loss. But studies have confirmed that gum disease can also play a part in the risk for heart attacks and strokes, premature or low birth weight babies and even dementia later in life. We keep our patients informed about the risks for and consequences of gum disease including xerostomia, also known as dry mouth, which can increase the risk for decay and gum disease. If you have more serious gum disease, we’ll treat it topically with a prescription antibiotic called Arestin®.
Preventive dentistry is now recognized as a long-overlooked foundation for maintenance of healthy teeth and an attractive smile, as well as a key factor in deterring many chronic diseases: diabetes, heart disease, strokes, even autoimmune disorders are now known to be associated with gum disease.
Our comprehensive approach to dental health care begins during your first visit to our office. Evaluations include:
- Medical history
- Digital and panoramic X-rays
- Periodontal charting
- Personal oral hygiene evaluation
- Home care review
- Discussion of special concerns and/or opportunities to improve your dental health
- Oral cancer screening
Oral Cancer Screenings
Oral cancer claims one life every hour on average in the US alone, and according to research conducted by the Oral Cancer Foundation, the best way to reduce this number is to diagnose and treat this disease in earlier stages. This determination is based in part on evidence that indicates more than 50% of patients diagnosed live less than 5 years following their diagnosis. When identified in the early stages, oral cancer is one of the most treatable forms of cancer, so it falls to dentists and physicians to spot this disease in its treatable early stages. Our priority is to ensure all of our patients maintain their optimal oral health, and that includes screening for common diseases such as oral cancer. We visually screen for signs of oral cancer during each appointment.
We apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants to adults as needed. Until children have all of their adult teeth, we treat them with fluoride at every visit.
We welcome every member of your family, from children making their first visit, to mature patients with more extensive dental health care needs. We are family-oriented people who understand families’ needs. Our goal is to make every patient feel comfortable and at home. Our specialized care keeps families, sometimes generations of them, coming back to see us.
